Digital Art Lessons!

Inkfusion’s Digital Art Lessons are designed to be a time and space for people to learn and experience digital art making on the PC/Laptop regularly. Students will be taught hard technical rendering skills as well as soft drawing techniques.

The lessons learned in this class will be suitable for school portfolios and freelancer portfolios.

iPad Digital Art Lessons!

These iPad Digital Art Lessons are designed to be a time and space for children to learn and experience digital-art-making on the iPad. Children will first be taught the basics of how to use the program then move on to drawing techniques and knowledge.

The lessons learned in this class will be suitable for admission into school application portfolios.

Progress for each student will be at their speed-of-learning. We believe that it is important for the student to grasp and demonstrate subject competence before moving onto more advanced topics.

Our trainers are Professional Digital Artists with National Arts Council endorsement.

So what do you teach in class?

Here are a few points that illustrates some of the topics that we will cover over the course of our lessons. As mentioned above, we will move at the speed-of-learning, therefore how much we cover depends on how fast the student grasps the lessons being taught.

  • Basic software functionality
  • Basics of drawing the face
  • Basics of constructing poses
  • Proportion
  • Basics of anatomy
  • Basics of lighting/rendering
  • Basics of composition
  • Basics of design
  • Basics of perspective

Also for every basic topic covered, there are also advanced topics.

For our Digital Art lessons only, more experienced students can learn the basics of 3D modelling as another set of complementary skills to their drawing and painting repertoire. The topics that will be covered are listed below.

  • Basics of poly-modelling
  • Basics of UV unwrapping
  • Basics of Texturing
  • Basics of Shader setup
  • Basics of Rendering

What will I need for this class?

Digital Art Lessons

You will need to bring your own Laptop and drawing tablet. Having the drawing tablet is essential because it can actually digitally-interpret how hard you are pressing when drawing.

Thankfully you can purchase the Wacom brand of tablets directly from us for a discount! (Just be sure to install the drivers as well!)

PLEASE NOTE:

We do not consider school PLD Chromebooks as Laptops. DO NOT expect that a PLD Chromebook is capable of doing all the things the students are going to do in class.

They are also often locked by the school IT department and lack the necessary power to run more powerful drawing programs.

You will also need to install a digital drawing program of your choice. Below are several recommended programs.

iPad Lessons

You will need to bring and iPad and Apple Pencil. Having the Apple pencil is ideal because it can actually digitally-interpret how hard you are pressing when drawing.

You will also need to install a digital drawing program of your choice. Below are several recommended apps.

  • Procreate (Paid)
  • Autodesk Sketchbook (Free / Paid)
  • Medibang (Free)
  • IbisPaint (Free)

If you have any questions regarding the hardware/software requirements, feel free to message us at 8278-3311.

Can I take this class online?

Currently, several students are receiving online instruction. However, they all previously completed basic introductory courses in-person before transitioning to online.

Our recommendation is that the student comes for the first 4 lessons, before transitioning on to an online learning environment.

If you have any questions about the online setup, feel free to contact us at 8278-3311.

Help! My child needs help with their school application!

Feel free to ask us for assistance if your child requires help crafting their portfolio (for DSA/Art University/Other Art Schools).

Our classes can be restructured to help students produce art pieces that can be slotted into their portfolio.

But please let us know well ahead of time before so our trainers can plan for it.
